About Anishnaabe Kwewag Gamig Inc.

Our shelter provides a safe, supportive, temporary alternative to a violent home for Aboriginal and non-Aboriginal women and their children (16 years and under) who are seeking refuge from abuse.

Located in a First Nation, we help women and children to overcome the unique obstacles faced by those who access our services.

IMPORTANT NOTICE

All requests for admittance must be made by the woman herself. The AKG Residential Counselor will complete a telephone assessment to determine a woman's eligibility for stay. For safety & security reasons, in some instances, it may be deemed necessary for staff to forward a Risk Assessment to the Ontario Provincial Police.
